Fish Song!! - Beats the ketchup song

I listened to his new ghaana song from the movie "chithiram Pesudathi" (A Portrait is talking)..It starts with the lines "vaazhameenukkum ..". It describes the marriage between two fishes of different kinds. The two fishes apparently met at a junction near the Cooum bridge and fell in love with each other. The bride's father has invited other fishes and the song describes each fish playing an apt role. The prawns with their moustaches are playing the band. The shark is playing the drums while the whale plays the master of the ceremony. It seems a lot of fish food was given as dwory along with a small place in the sea to the bridegroom. It is a beautiful song sung by "gana" ulagantahan who himself features in the song. The song is melodious and has really popularised the movie.kudos to this song.It rules my ipod now.

Day Vs Night!!

I listened to this song called "oovuru pookalume" from the movie autograph which aptly won the best playback singer for chitra. But what I didnt like about the song was a line which goes like - "oovuru vidiyalume solgirathey..." - What each dawn tells us is about the hardhsips of the night..in the metaphorical sense...
I detest this particular comparison.Ever wondered why poems or songs refer to daylight/sunshine as a good omen and nighttime as a bad time or an indication of something evil happening. I am totally against this view..For me I feel more alive in the night. I feel it is very peaceful and calm in the night. It is more chaotic in the daylight. For it is also in the nighttime that we sleep peacefully for 6-7 hours without any worries. It is in the night we look back on what happened during the chaotic day and we forget our worries and recline peacefully. Maybe I speak this because I am nocturnal but so would the owls and many people toiling at BPOs agree with me.

Waist not, Want not!!!

Yours truly gets out of his office bus in the night and sees a Newport 50% sale nearby. Its the last date of the sale and near closing time.Since it is too late I asked the shop owner to get me a denim pant. Last time I checked my waist it was 36 and estimated mine to be 38 now. The shop owner was close to finishing his business and also didnt have a measuring tape. So I confidently asked him for the 38". Since the height kinda matched I took it home without trying it on. Next morning when I tried it on it seemed ok. I did feel that it was a little loose but thought I could manage without a belt. It was in office that I started feeling the first sign of predicament. The pant was loose and had slid down a bit. I had to rush to the toilet to pull it up properly whilst my friend nearby was asking me whether it was one of my usual stomach upsets. I returned confidently having pulled it up maximum somewhere near my stomach. As I sat down and started going into routine stuff when I realised that the pant had slid down again. Seeing my discomfort one of the colleagues nearby asked about my discomfort which I explained precisely. The colleague offered to help by asking me to stand up and checking the exaction position of the pant around the waist. I bluntly refused knowing the consequences. Then one colleague told me that if he made me run the pant would slide down fully and threatened to make me run. I was entirely terrified and glued myself to my seat. I felt as insecure as wearing a veshti. I swore to myself that I would get a belt soon. The brighter side of it was that I was still 36 which was a morale booster.

Strange but True!!

Yours truly was born on March 19. Therefore I decided to find out which other greats were born on the same day. The first I could find was the famous gutty explorer David Livingstone who explored Africa. If I had had atleast 2%of his wanderlust, my life would have been better. The next name I knew was the famous war criminal Adolf Eichman whose hunt and capture made news. I am glad I dont appreciate his brutality. On the list were Ursula Andress the first bond girl and Glenn Close the talented actress of Fatal Attraction fame. I however found some comfort when I found one of my favourite action heroes Bruce Willis listed..I guess I am equally as bald as him.

ENGLAND'S WOES

India is going to meet a battered and injured English team in the forthcoming series. I will be happy if England draws a test and wins any one ODI. And God bless the brave Flintoff.
