BPO - Beware of Perverts and Offenders????????

It is not long since a girl called Stephanie Audwo working at a BPO in chennai was chased by maniacs in the middle of the night and killed very tragically. Out comes the next shocking news at the end of a year ruled by natural disasters. Pratiba, an employee of a BPO in Bangalore was raped and murdered by her driver whose duty was to ensure that she is safely dropped at her house after her work hours in the middle of the night. Well what is so shocking is that these BPO employees do boast a lot of the peaceful pickup/drop offered to them in A/C cars by their companies and how they enjoy the privilege so much. This privilege has turned out to be a bane to the girls in BPO. Well I thought the rule was always to be ladies first even in the drops in the night. Guess the people didnt bother as the driver would have been a regular. Following this, all kinds of security measures like escorts and confirmation calls after geting dropped have been enforced. Well a tragedy could have been avoided had this been implemented earlier. I did hear these measures are already been there for some BPOs. Well I guess these are necessary considering the frivolent and friendly nature of BPO employess which is mistaken for availability. sad indeed!!
