The Golden Globe.....

Every year the HFPA presents the Golden Globe and the show gets glitzy every year. I had the privilege to watch the same on Star World yesterday. Absolutely glamorous and charming. Clooney,Felicity Huffman and Ang lee stole the show while steve carel's acceptance speech was really funny. And I was absoultely bowled over by Scarelt Johansson in her red dress...

A newfound interest!!

After trying out cricket, badminton and table tennis, I have developed a sudden passion for the game which is keeping ESPN alive - Soccer. Thanks to my cousin Satish, neighbours Siva,Harshit and the young Kushal I have started watching soccer on TV thanks to the numerous EPL and champions league matches. Its a game where each moment is pulasting and keeps you glued on. Right now my favourite team is Liverpool though they lost to a less talented Sao Paolo thanks to dubious decisions. I like to watch Rooney,Cristiano Ronaldo of ManU and Peter Crouch,Steven Gerrard of Liverpool in action. The game involves lot of mindplay too from the coach who decides the strategy. I am slowly learning the game. We did try out football last weekend at my home where we simulated a corner try. This game was invented by yours truly and we liked playing it. Soccer will keep you glued to TV on weekends if you are really interested.

Below is the pic of 6ft 7 in Peter Crouch in action...

GoodBye 2005!!

With rather laziness and indifference I bid farewell to 2005 while watching a Bond movie called "Moonraker" on Dec 31. When the clock struck 12, I never felt the same excitement I used to have previous years. Understandably so because there was not the usual company of my close friends and brothers. Even though my close friend Tressa was in town I didnt feel so happy on the eve. Maybe it was drive on ECR with my parents and 1 hour turmoil in a traffic jam near Tidel Park which made me tired. One person who tried to make me cheerful was my cousin's dog Hermionie who has grown into a rather spoilt puppy who requires constant petting. She kept jumping at me and longed for attention. Somehow the party animal and the freak in me had disappeared. I didnt even go to meet Sai or Bilwa that evening and they were very disappointed with me. I no longer wished to be bowling or drinking cappuchino at Coffee Day. I was satisfied eating an apple on my bed watching the Bond movie. i tried not too much to think about why this happened. Instead I put on a happy face and greeted my parents and offered a humble prayer to god to keep everybody peaceful and happy. Then at 1 AM I woke up a few friends and wished them. At 1.30 I made my new year resolutions right from the one to stop eating non veg to the one where I would exercise. And suddenly i felt sleepy and wished 2005 goodbye in my dreams while the events of the year filled with laughter, tears, anger, disappointment, elation and other emotions flashe3d before me...Another year has begun and lets hope for the best to happen ........to all of us..........I have grown older..and so did everyone else..

Desi Santa!!

Yours Truly in a desi version of Santa........

Avez-vous faim?

Situated at the back of chola sheraton at kasturi rangan road is a exclusive dessert shop called Painted Platters at the side of La Madeleine the french restaurant. The restaurant has park benches and your entry is welcomed by a charming French lady whom I christened "Amelie" after my favourite movie heroine. This wonderful place was suggested to me by Bilwa and Sai my school friends who also accompanied me to the place. Amelie then gives you a book like Agatha christie/Roald Dahl/Maclean and if you turn the pages of the book you would find the menu pinned to one of the pages. I was really impressed both by the hostess and the menu. I had a chocolate ice cream while Sai and Bilwa settled for other desserts. This place is ideal for desserts and is an open air place. You could try the same if you have decided to go for desserts and if you answered "yes" to the question in the title.

For more information on Painted Platters here is a very decent review I found on chennaionline.
