Southpaw or pawless?

On Sunday morning, Mom and I were watching some scenes from the tamil movie "Gajini" where they were showing Surya playing Sanjay signing a cheque for charity. Surya took a pen in his left hand and neatly signed the cheque. That prompted a "oh" from my Mom. On further questioning, she replied that she didnt expect Surya to be left handed (not sure if he is really) and that left handedness implied bad parentage. I was shell shocked. How in the dickens could she think like that? And there are many such parents I have seen who have concluded that their children are disabled because they are southpaws. Have these people seen Wasim Akram bowl? Or Adam Gilchrist bat? Have they heard of Bill clinton? Julius Caesar and Napolean were also supposed to be left handed. The people who gave us "Alice in Wonderland" and "Tom Sawyer" were left handers. Little do these people realise that talent lies a few inches above in the brain and left handedness lies in the gene and that we are like compiled C codes and we cant change the way we do certain things.I wish I was a southpaw though I do experiment batting left handed sometimes.

You got to be left handed for at least a few things in life.. so it's OK.
